My body
Refuses to carry
The burden of
My heavy heart.
These emotions,
Like anchors,
Nailed to my
Ankles.
Every step
A new pain,
And every word
A new heartbreak.
I try to understand.
Am I
Damned to
Be alone?
Fate frowns
Upon my
Fragile existence.
Nothing more
Than glass
Waiting to be
Smashed.
Refuses to carry
The burden of
My heavy heart.
These emotions,
Like anchors,
Nailed to my
Ankles.
Every step
A new pain,
And every word
A new heartbreak.
I try to understand.
Am I
Damned to
Be alone?
Fate frowns
Upon my
Fragile existence.
Nothing more
Than glass
Waiting to be
Smashed.

Dream Invasion
In the dead of night the culprit stole;
Into your dream to take you whole,
Lacing thoughts with such blight;
Stealing your heart for its own delight.
Within your head it creeps and lurks;
Placed by terror and dark’s deep quirks,
Cold and sharp behind your eyes;
Pouring up in incriminating cries.
The blank of white streams in tears;
Forcing out your primal fears,
Twisted into targeted hate;
It strips you of your chosen fate.
Now you are but to paint the lines;
A story to tell of her crimes,
Prose written in desperate plea;
Unable to hide, unable to flee.
Forever stuck in the cold tide;
A surge which you are forced to ride,
It was but

An Ode to the Place in my Dream
An island in the mist
Old and forgotten
A cliff side beaten by the sea
Waves crash against its sides far below
Atop the cliff a tree
Seemingly dead
But oh so stubbornly living
Its fellows long dead
Their children abandoning the cliff
But not this tree
It refuses to leave
It never blossoms and is always bare
But it lives there
On the cliff beaten by the sea
On this island in the mist

It's not dumb, it shows how strong you are.
And I have to admit, that last stanza hit me hard. I've definitely felt like glass before, only shattered glass. :/
