Sun-scarred eyes
The rolling seas
Of golden grain
Arms outstretched
To grasp the Sun
For years, they yearn
And weep, alas,
Their gilded king is ill, and lo,
His grim advisor emerges
The palest mimic of glory
In a broken mirror of a man

Uncomfortable in my clothes and skin,
I scratch at them both again and again.
Cloth bound tight across my chest,
Hides my eyes from now-flat breasts.
My jeans show off my curvy hips-
Though it looks good, a frown curves my lips.
In the mirror, I am unsure of what I want to see,

In the dead of night the culprit stole;
Into your dream to take you whole,
Lacing thoughts with such blight;
Stealing your heart for its own delight.
Within your head it creeps and lurks;
Placed by terror and dark’s deep quirks,
Cold and sharp behind your eyes;
Pouring up in incriminating cries.
The blank of white streams in tears;
Forcing out your primal fears,
Twisted into targeted hate;
It strips you of your chosen fate.
Now you are but to paint the lines;
A story to tell of her crimes,
Prose written in desperate plea;
